Visible by its hangars and ground personnel who toil daily in Villamor Air Base, this wing principally provides depot level maintenance for the Philippine Air Force, recently the unit was moved to Clark Air Base.. High on its list of many priorities are the restorative maintenance, repair and modification of electronics and ground support equipment, programming and scheduling of the depot maintenance workload based on the goals set by higher headquarters, determining spare parts and materiel requirements, providing rapid area maintenance support (RAMS) to field units through mobile maintenance teams, improvement of maintenance systems, upgrading of maintenance standards through quality control, and intensive research in line with the Self-Reliance Defense Program (SRDP) objectives of the PAF.
