1. 0105 UTC 135mm f 2.8 25 seconds KODAK Royal Gold 1000. It is rarely clear down to the w/nw horizon in front of my home. I have caught it a couple of times, however. The comet is very dim now and barely naked eye visible. Only the coma is visible, even in binoculars. C/1995O1 makes its exit out of the inner solar system over the Croatan National Forest, behind Broad Creek, in Newport, NC.

2. 0108 UTC 135mm f 2.8 25 seconds KODAK Royal Gold 1000. This series of pictures shows a faint Comet Hale-Bopp setting into the trees of the Croatan National Forest.

3. 0112 UTC 135mm f 2.8 25 seconds KODAK Royal Gold 1000. As the skies become darker after nautical twilight, the Great Comet of 1997 sets into the forest behind the east prong of Broad Creek.

Parting shots; one of the brightest comets in history sets in the trees across Broad Creek. What a culmination of events in 1997. Comet Hale-Bopp, the personal computer and the world wide web come together to help make this the most observed comet ever! Thank you Ron Baalke for this wonderful site that has brought so many people together.
