USING THE RX320 WITH A MAC
Hi Gerry,
I just thought the word should get out that these receivers can be used on Macintosh computers.
My computer is a new G4 and I am running Virtual PC 3.0, with Windows 98. New Macs have USB ports but no RS232 serial ports, so I am using a USB to serial adapter. The one I have is made by Belkin. I only use Virtual PC for the RX320 control software but it allows any Windows software to run on a Mac. I have used three different RX320 control programs and they all worked fine. I can listen to the receiver, as I am right now, while doing other computer work.
I would also like to try the DEXTRA program on the Mac OS since it is JAVA based and I have JAVA for the Mac, but DEXTRA is not being very helpfull, even though if it works it will help them. I hesitate to buy it because it may not work, and second, passband tuning doesn't work in AM mode, as it does with the KF5OJ control program.
