These are albino versions of the American Alligator. A legend of the Louisiana bayou claimed that anyone who saw a white alligator would be blessed with good luck for one year. Thanks to the Toledo Zoo, digital photography and the World Wide Web, we can all get the good luck! The 'gator above was small. It was in a medium aquarium. The one below was pretty friggin' huge.
