NORWEGIAN KKK-LEADER FOUND NOT GUILTY AFTER RAMPAGE IN
                            HAUGESUND

     Dagbladet [7. July 1996]: A 21 year old leader of KKK-Norway
and a member of the "Einsatzgroup," was released from jail by the
"Gulating lagmannsrett"- court after he'd been sentenced to a one
year of prison by the "Haugesund"- city court.

On the 2nd of April 1995 a group of 4 individuals, the 21
year old and 3 of his disciples, went on a rampage in Haugesund.
A Vietnamese was kicked in the head and beaten with a wooden
stick, while the group shouted Nazi slogans at him. A woman was
knocked down because she allegedly had uttered that she liked
black people. Yet another man got knocked down and another person
got beaten up because he was supposed to be a Communist. A
Bosnian refugee got his arm broken while the group shouted
"Black, black!" at him.

The "Gulating lagmannsrett" found that the 21 year old was
the one most dominant ideologically, but at the same time they
realized that there was no evidence of him performing the
roughest violence. They made notice of the fact that a single
person can not get a collective conviction based on things that a
group had done, and thereby found the 21 year old to be not
guilty.

The 18 and 19 year old accepted the city court decisions,
while a 4th person was not convicted - he couldn't be tried
because of his low IQ.

John Christian Elden, the lawyer of the 21 year old said
that this ruling was a very important decision that would have
consequences when the state-attorney brings up a murdercase
involving 14 young Vietnamese next autumn.

The Fight against fascism cannot be won in courts. The case of Mumia Abu-Jamal and his excelent book "Live from death row" also shows this. Law, justice and their interpretation depend on public opion and mobilisation.
The Fight against fascism can only be won on the streets.
