The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has gone too far for me to sit by quietly any more. They are forcing a local elementary school to take down a tribute to one of their former superintnedents because it included a picture of Jesus. This supposedly violates the first amendment.

The first amendment states that Congress shall make no law prohibiting the free establishment of religion. It does not say that schools are not allowed to acknowledge Christ. Removing that picture actually prohibits the establishment of religion, and forcing the school to take it down is a greater violation than leaving it up. If your students cannot listen to both sides of an issue and come up with their own conclusion then they are not being taught right. Exposing children to the behaviors and attitude of Christ is not a bad thing.

These same people claim that the devil is not a religious symbol. Another local school was challenged because someone wanted to show how ridiculous the accusation was. She was told that the Blue Devil mascot was not a religious symbol. Why? People also worship Satan. Why should he be allowed in school and Christ not allowed? I would rather have my children grow up like Christ than like Satan. Unfortunately, the country has turned away from the Christian attitudes with the help of the unions and these liberal leaders we have had lately in our government.

What is the ACLU afraid of? Are they afraid that the students at that elementary school might turn out like Christ? Christ was loving, hard working, and honest. Is the ACLU offended by those sorts of people? Of curse they are. They are willing to trample anyone to get to the top, and want employers to pay more for employees to do less. Now that I step back and look at these unions, I can see why they would be offended by the works of Christ.
