The week I have decided to address the issue of alcoholism. Why would
anyone become an alcoholic? It is said that their parents were alcoholics
so they became one.
Before becoming an alcoholic, a person must first drink. I fail to see the
excitement in getting drunk, especially with a substance such as beer. First
they drink the disgusting brew until they do something they regret doing,
such as contracting the AIDS virus or something just as bad, and then If they are
really cool and get so drunk that they puke. Then the real fun begins the
morning after when it feels like a freight train has run your head over, and they
don't even remember how they got there.
Let me tell you that is my idea of fun. Any person who becomes an alcoholic
becomes one because of a lack of will power. First they are unable to overcome
the power of their ego and just say no. They want to fit in so they give in and
start drinking then they are unable to fight off the urge to do it again to they
become trapped in an endless ring and cannot get out.
As they drink even more their body begins to deteriorate and their liver turns
black, and it can no longer perform its function, and they die a very painful death.
The bottom line is if you haven't started drinking then don't, and if you have then
quit now while you still have the chance.
