For starters I am not talking about the sports fans that watch the game
on Sunday. I am talking about the people who watch every game; every time
there is a game on T.V.
These people will spend endless hours debating whether Micheal Jordan would
be able to beat Wilt Chamberlain if they were the same age and played
each other. Why is this essential information for them to know? When they
are young they start off by putting homework off to have these debates and watch
the game. Many people who suffer from cronic sports fanism as a child will
grow out of it by adulthood when they get their priorities straight. Those poor
people that do not will not grow out of it may get a job in the sports business,
but the rest of those people are left with a desire to watch a game rather than
work.
These people are characterized by statements like, "We won!" or "We lost!" and
sometimes, "Go! Go! Go!". The last one is most serious when the fan is at home,
and the player cannot hear him or her. The first two statements imply that the
fans are on the team that they are talking about. The last of the statements
show that the fans are too deep into the game that are delusional, and believe
that they are really playing the game.
Watch for this Cronic Sports fanism in yourself and your friends and family.
If you find it in anyone you know seek immediate help from your favorite psychiatrist.
