As you can figure out from reading previous Evils of the Week and other locations around my site that I am from northeast Ohio. "Why should I begin with that?" you ask? Well anybody that follows football even losely knows that the Browns are returning to Cleveland after a several year break of peaceful Autumn Sunday afternoons. I wasn't shown hundreds of idiots wearing "dawg" masks and barking at the team for hours on end. I was not subjected to pointless commentary that repeated itself and perpetuated the riduculous behavior that is promoted by the team as being team spirit. What team are those idiots a part of? Apart from the league of people that spend way too much time preparing to "participate" in what should be an entertainment exhibition. These people get too involved in the game. They cheer when their favorite team scores a point and boo when the other team scores.

Why are these people so loyal to one team? They will argue pointlessly and endlessly with somebody from another city as to why their team and city is better. I have witnessed several of these arguments between Browns and Steelers fans. They went on for God knows how long about which team is better. What was the point? Nobody changed their stance and I tended to agree that the Steelers were better because they have a lot more to show than the now Ravens have to show in their history. I am sick of hearing about this "historic" event that will happen later today. So this is first football game that a browns team has played in several years. Who cares? How will historians look upon this day in two hundred years from now? Will they really care? I am sure that they would much rather look at this year as the second time that a president was impeached. I am sure that historians will not really care about the browns in 200 years.

Well, if you want to know the truth, I really don't care about football and I really don't care about all of this coverage in the news. The outcome of a football game does not effect my life in any way because I am neither a player nor a gambler. Why should I care? Let me finish by saying that the thing that upset me the most about Art Modell moving his team to Baltimore is that a bunch of cry-babies whined loud enough that they allowed Cleveland to have a special expansion team.
