Well, well, well... It looks like it is finally over. As I thought on November 8, George W. Bush did indeed win Florida. This will be the last time that I will go on about Florida (at least in terms of the 2000 presidential race). This was something that got a lot of press attention and it really had me ticked off. I would like to take this time to review what happened one last time. Al Gore, the cry baby, refused to believe that he would not be president. He had been preened from infancy to become the president, and he had his heart set on it.

George W. Bush won the first count, then he won the second count and the third, fourth and fifth. Al Gore still insisted on counting votes that weren't there. Al's cronies in the Florida Supreme Court let the counting continue past the time set forth by Florida state laws. Then the votes were certified, and Jeb Bush set the certification to the National Archives. This effectively ended the race, but that was a little known fact. The U.S. Supreme Court said that the Florida Supreme Court had over stepped its bounds and told them to send an explanation to the highest court in the land. They ignored the request. Al intent on making sure that every vote counts, refused to allow 1000 overseas military votes count, and then tried to make sure that 10,000 absentee ballots were thrown out, because election officials had to fill in some numbers on the application. This was not even done on all of the ballots. He wanted the rest thrown out because we cannot tell which were which.

The Florida Supreme Court, ignoring the U.S. Supreme Court, allowed the counting to restart. Fortunately, the U.S. Supreme Court once again called this unconstitutional, and said that it was too late for any more counting to go on. Florida state law said that the electors had to be chosen by December 12 and that the Florida legislature has all the authority they need to choose their own. They of course did even though it doesn't mean anything because the certification had already been sent to the National Archives.

Now, Jesse Jackson is trying to protest the results saying that blacks were kept away from the polls. This of course happened in Democratically run counties. This means that the Democrats were trying to keep the blacks away from the polls Jesse. Well, its not really over because the democrats will go on that not all the votes were counted even though they were and they will constantly attempt to discredit the legitimacy of the presidency. I say tough beans. George W. Bush won fair and square, get over it.
