Coming Home...

Saturday, December 30th, 1995:

We left Massachusetts at 8:30am and arrived at the Shawsville Veterinary Hospital & Pet Care Center in Maryland (410-692-2800) at 4:30pm, an hour and a half after expected (!@#$% traffic! ;-). We met Cleo and Rocky for the first time, both running with their noses to the ground. Cleo came right up to us. Rocky likes to be a bit more particular in choosing his friends, so it took him a couple of minutes to "check us out". We got to meet some of their Maryland family, Bonnie Six (their main caretaker and foster mother), Valerie Macys (of Cocker Spaniel Rescue of Maryland fame) and Margaret Hoffecker DVM (the Vet). After getting aquainted, we received their records, a 20 lb bag of their present feed (Sensible Choice Lamb and Rice, we couldn't find it up here?) and instructions on how to care for Rocky's almost cured ear infection. After a few tears were shed in goodbyes (call Bonnie at the above number and cheer her up!), we loaded up, with Cleo, Rocky, and Maggie in the back seat. After a couple of stops we arrived back in Massachusetts at 1:30am and everyone piled into bed. Our two cats were a bit miffed at first, but cats and beagles were nose-to-nose the next day, all seemed to be willing to get along!

Happy Beagling,
Ron, Maggie, Cleo & Rocky
