Doomsday
By: Festus3 festus3@netins.net
Scene opens inside the starbase's sleeping quarters where everyone is sleeping peacefully in their bunks except Silverbolt who has just woke up and is getting out of the makeshift bed.
SILVERBOLT: Wake up everyone, it's time to get moving! (Groans sound off around the room.) I said, wake! Up! (No one really responds except for a weak attempt at throwing a pillow resulting in it landing on Silverbolt's left foot.) I warned you. (He walks up to a small red button behind a two by two inch glass door, swings the small door open and presses the button, a deafening siren sounds and everyone instantly snaps out of their deep sleep, resulting in some of them slamming their heads on the bunks above and others falling onto the metal floor.)
B'BOOM: Didn't think ya had it in ya.
Scene goes to the battle ship parked in the air locked docking bay, the view outside of the airlock is a beautiful sight of the sun rising over the desolate orange planet below.
BLACKARACHNIA: Beautiful, isn't it? (Silverbolt puts an arm around her waist.)
SILVERBOLT: Yes, but not as beautiful as you, my sweet poison. (The two begin to kiss, but-)
SIENT: Get a room. (B'boom snickers as he walks by carrying a box of food.)
TRIEX: Silverbolt, This is the last of the stuff we're taking with us, I had Inferno and Spike transfer all of the leftover equipment into a maintenance room.
SILVERBOLT: Why?
TRIEX: When this is over, whatever the turnout, I will give the location of the equipment to Cormon in person, There's no way I'm sending this information in any transmission. (He walks into the ship.)
BLACKARACHNIA: What did he mean, whatever the turnout? (Silverbolt is caught somewhat off guard.)
SILVERBOLT: Why, nothing I'm sure. Well, I mean when this mission is over. (The two look out of the airlock and Silverbolt draws her close. Inside the ship Tigatron and Sient are checking the computer configurations, while Airrazor, B'boom and Bormon are just sitting and waiting.)
B'BOOM: What exactly are we going to do when we get there?
BORMON: Triex said he had a plan.
AIRRAZOR: What I don't get is why we had to stop here at this abandoned star base. (A sudden wave of realization goes over the three and they rush up to Sient and Tigatron. but before they can say anything Silverbolt yells up into the ship-)
SILVERBOLT: We've got company! I'm going to go get Inferno and Spike!(Sient sweeps his hands over the keyboard and brings the scanners on-line, there on the screen are three red dots, two small and one big.)
SIENT: They're pirates! Two fighters and a bulk freighter!
B'BOOM: That's why! They were planning on coming and getting it themselves!
AIRRAZOR: But why? (She realizes the answer to her own question.) They know.
TIGATRON: Know what?
BORMON: They know our secret.
SIENT: Impossible!
BORMON: I don't know how, but admit it, our meeting up was far too coincidental, and team Almatron's amazingly quick assent into high ranking was not just incredible, now it seems obvious.
B'BOOM: What!? What's obvious!?
BORMON: We are doing just what they want us to do, I mean look what we've done to this ship, we've made it a perfect war-machine!
SIENT: And I'm guessing there's no use in trying to fly out and fight. (He shortens the distance of the scanners.) That airlock is now a hyperion force field, it works like fly-paper, if we would have tried to fly through that it would have disabled all of our systems, unless the person that set the trap comes along and enters the release code.
AIRRAZOR: So what do we do?
BORMON: Set our own trap, first of all, I'm guessing that bulker is carryingsoldiers and empty space for the weapons from the nine freighters.
Scene goes to the maintenance room where Inferno and Spike are about two thirds done with hauling the large crates into the cramped room. Silverbolt comes running in out of breath.
SILVERBOLT: Hurry, back to the ship!
INFERNO: What's happened?
SILVERBOLT: Pirates are here. (The two say no more and follow Silverbolt back to the battleship. When they get there everyone is looking out into the sunrise and watching the three ships take form.)
BLACKARACHNIA: They're getting closer, what should we do?
SILVERBOLT: First and foremost we must not let them get ahold of theseweapons, second of all we should be prepared to fight our way out.
SPIKE: I like those words. (The force field changes colors.)
TRIEX: It's open!
B'BOOM: We can't make it through, uh, hide! (The ten spies scatter to the far sides of the massive docking bay and dive behind cranes and under various other equipment. The first ships to come in are the fighters, then the bulk freighter. Out of the freighter pours about fifty soldiers of various species, out of each fighter comes a familiar character escorted by two bodyguards, the first is Batty, the second, Fish.)
BATTY: Strange, very strange, they didn't try to leave the bay, they aren't even in here.
FISH: (Looks to the soldiers.) Search this station! find them and destroy them! (The soldiers spread apart and exit through the various exits and corridors.)
BATTY: It appears, we may have underestimated these so-called loyal soldiers.
FISH: No matter, the modifications they have done to this ship are incredible! (He looks up at the battleship in awe.) In fact we should get it out of here before anything can happen.
BATTY: Indeed, (he snaps his fingers and his two bodyguards lean down to listen.) Start up that ship, and make it snappy! (the two lumbering creatures, even bigger than the triceratops ones they fought before, start walking into the ship. Silverbolt, crawls up to Triex who is hiding under an old, half taken apart space fighter, leftover from when the station was used.)
SILVERBOLT: We can't let them take that ship, what should we do? (Triex answers that question by taking his assault rifle from his shoulder, Silverbolt pulls out his muzzle-gun as well.) The two heading to the ship. (They jump out from behind the fighter and begin firing at the two bodyguards, one of them is hit and falls down, but the other hits a button on his wrist gauntlet and a green haze surrounds his body.)
TRIEX: Force field! This is bad. (Suddenly, Blackarachnia, also now in beast mode, drops from the ceiling and lands on top of the brute, it responds by grabbing the four legs on her right side and hurling her to Fish's bodyguards who are now also in a green haze.)
SILVERBOLT: No! (He begins firing like crazy, the energy shots from his gun bounce harmlessly off of the force field, then about fifteen soldiers come out of a corridor and notice the cross-fire.)
FISH: (Who is now running along with Batty and the two bodyguards holding the squirming Blackarachnia to the battle ship.) Kill them! (The guards start into a flat-out run, when they pass by a large crate with a hole rotted out of it, Inferno and B'boom jump out.)
INFERNO: Burn pirates! (He flies into the air and begins firing his flame thrower holding the soldiers at bay. B'boom comes up behind them and slams one in the base of his neck with a metal fist, the now unconscious soldier falls to the ground throwing several of his colleagues off-balance, giving Spike a chance to come out from behind a forklift, Spike pulls out an assault rifle like Triex's and peppers the soldiers. Bormon sees Batty and Fish entering the battleship and runs to it, before he gets there he passes by a door that opens, revealing more soldiers back from their search.)
BORMON: Oh no. (He pauses for a second, then dives to the left of the door, as the soldiers start to walk out a blue energy beam freezes the door closed, Bormon looks up to see Tigatron standing about twenty yards away from him. He then remembers Batty, he turns his head just in time to see the little rodent enter the ship.)
Inside the ship, Batty and Fish sit down in the pilot's chairs and the bodyguards remain standing, holding the very angry Blackarachnia.
BLACKARACHNIA: What do you think you're doing? (the bodyguards keep her from tearing the short creature apart.)
BATTY: It's simple really, I'm taking the ship, and you're going to pilot it out of here.
BLACKARACHNIA: Not a cha-(Batty puts the muzzle of a small laser pistol right into her face,) Never! (Batty tightens his grip,) All right, I'll do it. (Batty loosens his grip just a little bit, then Blackarachnia transforms into beast mode, breaking free of the guards and throwing Batty off-balance.)
BATTY: What the!? (Blackarachnia jumps behind the strong yet slow bodyguards, then transforms and pulls out her gun, pointing it at Batty.)
BLACKARACHNIA: Stay back vermin! (Blackarachnia backs toward the ship's controls and enters a few quick commands, outside of the ship the battle rages on. More of the soldiers are returning and a few more reinforcement ships are approaching the star base, then the battleship comes to life, lifting off of the ground and rotating to face the airlock opening.)
FISH: What exactly do you plan to do? You can't get through that force field.
BLACKARACHNIA: Open the force field now!
FISH: I can't do that from this ship! I need to be in the same ship I arrived in.
BLACKARACHNIA: The controls are in there huh? (She taps the keyboard some more, outside Silverbolt watches the ship swivel to face the two fighters and bulk freighter.)
SILVERBOLT: Everyone! In the ship! (Team Almatron and team Omegon, make a mad dash for the battleship as it centers on the pirate's ships.)
BATTY: You can't do that!
BLACKARACHNIA: Watch me! (She slams her hand down on the fusion cannon activation button. Just as B'boom, the last to get into the ship, jumps and grabs the edge of the hatch he sees the fusion cannon beginning to glow orange.)
B'BOOM: Oh this is going to be bad. (As the energy pulse exits the muzzle, B'boom hauls himself into the hatch and closes it. Inside Batty watches as the bulk freighter explodes in a ball of flames, taking the two fighters with it.)
BATTY: Alliance fool, without the control of that ship the force field can't susta-(As he says this the force field disappears and the battleship is sucked out of the opening, flying end over end into space, other things fly out of the bay, including equipment, parts of old ships, and soldiers.)
INFERNO: (The ships spinning has knocked the gravity control out.) We must get to the bridge! (They climb along the walls to the bridge where, Blackarachnia is floating unconscious, a mark on her forehead suggestion that she slammed into a heavy object, or it slammed into her.)
SILVERBOLT: Nooo! (What he doesn't see is the two bodyguards hanging onto the ceiling, made easier by the anti gravity. They push themselves down onto him and slam him into the floor. Silverbolt manages to slam one into a wall with his feet but the other one gets him in a head lock, the first body guard is stunned and floats toward Triex, Triex opens the refuse tube and shove the large creature into it.)
TRIEX: Here's some news for you buddy, (The body guard pounds on the lid of the tube,) this is gonna suck! (He flips the switch and the body guard is sent flying into the vacuum of space. Silverbolt is fighting to free himself from the second gladiator-like creature to no avail, they remain twisting in mid-air.)
SILVERBOLT: Somebody, stabilize the ship! (Sient dives for the controls floating within inches of the bundle of feathers and claws, he runs into the controls and starts hitting buttons, the ship stabilizes and the gravity comes back on, the creature throws Silverbolt off of him and turns just in time to see Spike fist slam into his face, he stands there stunned for a few seconds then falls to the floor unconscious.)
BORMON: Sient! Look out! (in the center of the view port are five destroyers floating there, somewhat cigar shaped and twice as long as their battleship, they are waiting until their ship is in range.)
SIENT: (He takes the ship into a vertical dive,) Whoooooooaaaaaaaaaaa! (then straightens out and activates their cloaking device.)
TIGATRON: I never want to go through that again. (Inferno and B'boom are dragging away the body guard, but unnoticed by them one of the metal floor tiles is loose.)
BORMON: Wait a second, I saw Batty and Fish come in here too. Where are they? (Triex lifts up the loose metal sheet, revealing the small yet usable crawl space.)
TRIEX: That's where they went, who wants to do the honors? (Tigatron converts into beast mode and barely squirms into the space, then disappears down the Jeffrey's tube. Silverbolt is kneeling holding Blackarachnia in his arms.)
SILVERBOLT: Are you all right my sweet? (Blackarachnia lifts her head weakly, she sees Silverbolt smiling down at her. One of her clawed hands swings up and smacks him in the side of the head.)
BLACKARACHNIA: I'm fine! I'm not some damsel in distress here, and I'm the one that saved your skid-plates!
SPIKE: I don't seem to remember getting any command from you to enter the ship. (Silverbolt growls slightly at Spike who backs off.)
SIENT: Clam it! We got bigger fish to fry here! (He points at the view screen where four the five cruisers are firing blindly trying to hit their ship, but the more prominent and vital detail is that the fifth one is entering the star base.)
