"Champagne Supernova"
- Oasis
I first heard this song in June and liked it, but for some reason, I never bought the
CD or single. Two months later, I finally bought it after finding out that Oasis sang
three songs I liked. After listening to "Champagne Supernova" a few times, I got
to pay more attention to the rockin' guitars that never slip out of harmony with each
other and the lead singer. Oasis slowly builds the song one instrument at a time, as well
as the intensity, then climaxes with crashing guitars as they rip into the chorus. As for
the rest of the album, it sounds like what The Beatles would sound like if they came out
today. Close harmony and chord progressions that overcome you makes Champagne
Supernova an excellent candidate for "SONG OF THE YEAR". As for the
memories, I used to wake up to this song in the morning while eating breakfast. Nice way
to come alive...
