"Put The Blame One Me"
- The Mother Station
In July, I got to take a week's vacation in Ocean City, Maryland with the family.
Excellent weather, an oceanview from the balcony and great times put me in a good mood.
While there, I wandered into a music store just to look around. Much to my amazement, I
found a compilation CD with the song Hobo Humpin Slobo Babe by Whale (a prior
I.M.O.T.Y. song) which I didn't have on CD. I bought it and starting breezing through it
in the car, listening to the intro of the other songs on the CD until I got to song #9.
The guitars got my attention, and the drum kit held it, and I swore it was Janis Joplin
singing. By the time the chorus came around, I already had the stereo up almost all the
way and I knew I was on to something hot. Needless to say, the song was on the I.M.O.T.Y.
nomination list by the time it was over, and wound up as a nomination for a"SINGLE OF
THE YEAR". Talk about a "shore" song, nothing but memories of sun, sand,
family and fun when Put The Blame On Me comes on. I can't help but smile and get
pumped with a voice like that, mixed with a hot lead guitar and funly bass. Just try and
sit down...
