Towards the end of January 1996, my sister gave me Michael Jackson's HIStory:
collection for no reason, quite ironic as I had wanted to get it for a couple months. I
had heard the single and saw the video in 1995, but never paid any attention to it because
I thought I had outgrown Jackson. But when I got to sit down and listen to 'Scream', I
quick took notice to the cuts Michael was making towards the media. It made you stop and
look at the life of a person where every minute of their WHOLE life has been in the media.
I'm not taking pity, merely stating a fact. The hard rocking guitars actually compliment
Jackson's voice and 'screaming'. He even gets sister Janet Jackson into the mix. Great
song that can pump you up. Unfortunately, the rest of the album wasn't that hot. but
definitely worth the investment if you like old Michael Jackson. Its a 'greatest hits'
collection destined to be in music collections when Michael gets airplay on radio stations
in ten years when 'the oldies' are being played.
