"He's The Man With The Magic Touch"

When I got this CD, I had never heard of it before, so I did my usual 'intro scan' to
quick check it out, but I never got past the fifth song He's The Man With The Magic
Touch. I must have listened to it about 12 times in a row before going to the next
song. I've always had a passion for 'swing', but thought I would have to settle for the
old Tommy Dorsey, unitl now. The lead singer of Stray Cats,
an 80's band, was duplicating a genre of music that I thought was gone forever. After
reading the liner notes, I couldn't believe that he actually wrote He's The Man With
The Magic Touch and arranged it. Brian was able to keep the swing feel, but brought
it into the 90's without selling the sound out. He included numberous brass 'accents', a
swinging sax section, and a typical swing ending with his own touch. 'Swing' as we know it
is definitely back, and it goes by a new name: The Brian Setzer Orchestra!
