"Remember"

January of 1996 saw three I.M.O.T.Y. songs recorded for inclusion on the 1996 release
with Coolio being the third to be found. I had gotten his CD 'It Takes A Thief' that had
the song Fantastic Voyage on it which I had wanted for a long time. I got the
'Dangerous Minds' movie soundtrack which he did the song Gansta's Paradise, so I
was interested in hearing what one of his album's were like. I came across Remember
as the last song on the CD, but enjoy the samples, funky bass and drum kit that make it so
easy to bob your head to. Coolio takes you through his childhood 'step by step...' with
his famous double-recording of his voice that adds a great echo effect. The music is what
attracted me to this song, how Coolio takes rap to a genre that hasn't been duplicated
yet.
