conducts and coordinates multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research
engaging for that its own full-time research staff ( 7 ) and part-time
experts or consultants from Yugoslavia and abroad ( 50 in 1997 ). It also
has an Administrative staff and an Information - documentation team, as
well as a specialized library. CSS research
projects are headed by Program directors responsible for research in each
Long-term Research Area. The CSS publishes
books, papers & studies and CSS Survey,
a periodical which presents some of the results of research and a review
of the Center's overall activities. Although financially rather limited,
the CSS manages to maintain regular contacts
with individuals and related institutions abroad and stimulates the realization
of joint research projects and visitor programs. It holds meetings, seminars
conferences and round tables on current issues in international affairs
including permanent bilateral "round tables" with institutes from several
countries.
CSS is financed by private
companies from Yugoslavia and abroad, by international foundations (Open
Society Fund - Yugoslavia) , from income of commissioned projects and from
its own assets. (CSS is the owner of his premises in the building in the
Belgrade downtown). In fact, CSS is facing
every-day struggle for financial survival. That's the reason why CSS
would welcome sponsors for research projects, conferences, publishing activities
and purchasing research (computer) equipment.
