The Internationalist Communist Group fights for the constitution of the international proletariat into class and therefore into World party for the destruction of capitalism that is to say this society subjected to the dictatorship of profit that famishes man and destroys the nature. It implies the destruction of wage labour merchandise social classes armies jails national frontiers in short all kind of State... Our objective is as for all the revolutionaries of the past the constitution of a worldwide human community without exploited neither exploiters. The first material of the ICG in Russian ======================================== In October 1998 our group published on internet the first material of the ICG in Russian. This publication represents a new step in the framework of the efforts of our international and internationalist group to reinforce the organic centralisation of the proletarian struggle even in this period of victorious counterrevolution. Of course the publication of this text is only a small step forward in this gigantic fight and the Internationalist Communist Group is determined to give a continuity to the efforts made in this direction. This text is produced by militants whose first language is not Russian. It is impossible for us to assume a regular publication in Russian considering the weaknesses of our class and our group. Thanks to the militant collaboration of some comrades and sympathizers we translated the following text because we see the necessity for internationalism. Their activity participates in to the proletariat's collective and international effort to smash the frontiers. We are fully aware that there remains various mistakes and imperfections. We call on any Russian-speaking militant who could help us to correct the translation of this text. We call on the Internationalist Revolutionaries to contribute to this important historical task. Read distribute this material !!! http://www.oocities.org/Paris/6368/sintezru.htm http://www.oocities.org/Paris/6368/indexru.htm COMRADES ========= Our reviews can only fully succeed in their task of organizing communist action if they have active participation of their readers and sympathisers. Any contribution you make - theoretical critical or practical - will help us to forge a real revolutionary tool. The responsibility and the production of our articles are the result of a collective activity - this is the reason why the articles are not signed. Use this material! What's New at Socialist Appeal's "In Defence of Marxism" web site http://www.marxist.com November 7 1998 - Lessons of Chile 1973 http://www.marxist.com/latinam/chile73.html The arrest of former Chilean dictator Pinochet in London has generated a lot interest about Chile. We take advantadge of this opportunity to publish a document written in 1979 by Alan Woods analysing the history of Chilean labour movement and specially the period of the socialist coalition government of Allende. Who was behind Pinochet's coup? What interests was he defending? What were the policies of the Allende government and why despite all warnings was unable to prevent the coup? --------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you would like to be informed by email of new additions to the In Defence of Marxism web site send us an email to new@socappeal.easynet.co.uk with "subscribe What's new" as the message body. What's New at Socialist Appeal's "In Defence of Marxism" web site http://www.marxist.com November 7 1998 Germany: from revolution to counter-revolution http:///www.marxist.com/germany 80 years ago on November 7th and 8th of 1918 a revolutionary uprising of workers sailors and soldiers spread throughout Germany. The Bavarian monarchy was quickly overthrown and in a few days a government of the Council of People's representatives had been stablished and announced its intetion to "implemente a socialist programme". In 1918-33 revolution and counter-revolution followed hot on each others' heels. The barbarity of the Nazis is well documented. Less well known are the events that preceeded Hitler's rise to power.Rob Sewell gives a picture of the tumultous events - the 1918 revolution the collapse of the Kaiser's regime the short-lived Bavarian Soviet Republic the Kapp putsch in 1920 the French occupation of the Ruhr in 1923 and the ensuing revolutionary upheavals culminating in the abortive Hamburg uprising finally Hitler's rise to power in 1929-33. Above all this book shows in the decisive (and tragic) role of the German workers' leadership the answer to one of the key questions of the modern era: how was it possible for the mightiest labour movement in Europe to be trampled under the iron heel of fascism? Germany - From Revolution to Counter Revolution was published by Fortress Books in 1988 the ISBN is 1-870958-04-7. Although out of print Wellred Books still has a few copies for sale costing 3 pounds sterling (postage included). Subject: (MARX) New US Socialist magazine launched
Date: Thu; 12 Nov 98 16:22:53 +0100
From: ( socappeal@easynet.co.uk )
What's New at Socialist Appeal's "In Defence of Marxism" web site http://www.marxist.com November 12 1998 Socialist Labor: New US Socialist magazine launched http:///www.socialistlabor.com We are happy to announce the launch of a new marxist magazine in the US. We encourage all our readers in the US to contact the editors and let them know your opinions about it and wether you would be prepared to help defend the ideas of genuine socialism in the US. Here follows the launch statement and contact details. Why are we launching Socialist Labor? Profound changes are on the order of the day. Everywhere you look there is instability and crisis. All the models held up as examples to follow are now in a complete mess. Japan and South East Asia are already in deep slump. For the first time since 1945 Europe has witnessed the shocking scenes of refugees fleeing from civil war in the Balkans. What has emerged since the collapse of the Berlin Wall in not a New World Order but one of Disorder. It is clear that we have entered one of the most turbulent periods in history. The United States will not be immune from this developing world crisis. On the contrary this country given its pivotal economic position will become the center of this maelstrom. The coming crisis will affect all classes but in particular it will bear down on the working class who as always will be asked to make huge sacrifices to bail out the system. Already workers are feeling the squeeze through corporate downsizing lean production and the cut in real wages. It is a small taste of what is to come. Big business will attempt to ride roughshod over the workers in order to maintain its profit levels. This will give rise to a massive conflict between the classes not witnessed since the inter-war period with profound political and social consequences. The crisis of corporate America will become a crisis for the two party system. This will provide the basis for the rise of the Labor Party as the true voice of the American working class. A mass party of Labor will transform the situation opening the way for real socialist ideas. We are therefore launching this magazine as a forum for discussion amongst Labor and trade union activists and youth. Its aim is to provide a class analysis of events and a clear socialist explanation of the situation unfolding in the United States and internationally. A fighting program needs to be forged that defends the interests of working people faced with the onslaught of the big business oligarchy that presently rules. At the end of the day only the coming to power of the Labor Party on a socialist program can answer the needs and aspirations of the vast bulk of Americans. We are confident that on the basis of events millions will see the need and participate in the struggle for this transformation of society. We hope you like this first issue of Socialist Labor. That you will subscribe to it. That you will help promote it in your union local Labor Party chapter college or school.
