If Earth was only as big as this picture, the thickness of the breathable
atmosphere would be as thin as a hair. Astronauts in Earth's orbits report
that the snow in Siberia is grey, and the whole northern hemisphere appears
in dull colours as if view through a panty-hose. Such global proportions
of air-pollution are not always easy to see. But that sheer scale of the
problem (the amount) is staggering.
I believe it is high time to stop pollution by feverishly employing new
technologies...
I believe the vanadium battery would make the biggest impact and almost single handedly would allow us to live as good before ... and better.
For now it looks like we turn our island of life into a desert planet. In 300 years the history books will tell us about the wonderful green oasis and clean waters and our grand-grandchildren will have a lot of records about their ancestors from the 20th and 21st century... the one who caused this ... unspeakable thing to happen.
It is here and now that matters. What else? The biggest problem (climate survival) needs to be tackled first. Stop driving a car ... say publicly (write to, and phone Car-vendors, politicians, councils): "I want to buy and drive an affordable electric car". That is the start.
