  • The new constitution was signed into law by President Nelson Mandela on Tuesday, 10 December 1996. It will be phased in over two years beginning early in 1997.

    For those that receive South African radio do not forget The Editors which is broadcast at 12:30 on SAfm 104-107khz on a Sunday. This excellent panel discussion programme is hosted by Nigel Murphy. It is repeated at 18:30 on Sunday evening. PROTEST TO RADIO 702 ABOUT THE REMOVAL OF CHRIS GIBBONS FROM THE AIRWAVES!!!!

    SAfm broadcasts two news actuality programmes daily. The first is AM Live in the morning from 6:00 to 8:30. The second is PM Live in the afternoon from 16:00 to 18:00. By far the best news actuality programme is to be found on Radio 702 at 17:00 - 18:30. This is the Chris Gibbons report. By far the finest broadcast journalist in the country, Chris Gibbons provides insightful and incisive comment on the major stories of the day. Definitely not to be missed.
