MEETING OF STATE COMMISSION FOR HOJALY GENOCIDE TOOK PLACE February 21, 1995
IA TURAN"Yesterday the State Commission for organisation of the mourning day - the third anniversary of Hojaly genocide - conducted the first meeting. The Chairman of the Commission, the Chief of the Executive staff of President, Ramiz Mehtiyev, chaired the meeting.
The members of the Commission shared the same opinion. They said that all generations of Azeris, which have become the victims of Armenia's acts of genocide in 1905, 1915, 1948, 1953 and 1980s, must be mentioned.
The participants of the meeting said that up to now the world public does not know about these events, since for 70 years the Soviet regime concealed the crimes from the world public. Due to this fact, the necessity of conduction of 90th anniversary of genocide of Azeris of 1905, was stressed.
It has been mentioned during the meeting that the acts of genocide were accompanied by mass deportation, which was carried out by Armenians together with Bolsheviks. As a result of that, on the territory of Armenia located on the Turkish lands, there are no local population.
After the beginning of the movement of Armenians for separation of Nagorno Karabakh from Azerbaijan and its joining to Armenia in 1988-1989, 250,000 Azeris were withdrawn from their lands. During this actions Armenians killed more than 200 persons.
