My
name is Stephen Dempsey, your host and the author of this website.
My career in the field of Public
Safety
Communications spans more than 17 years. I have worked for both single-entity
police and fire agencies, and combined communications centers, large and
small.
I am
currently a Lead Communications Specialist with the Eugene Department of
Public Safety's
Central
Lane Communications in Eugene, Oregon. I have been with the department
for six years.
My professional credentials include a Journeyman Radio Dispatcher certificate from the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries, an AAS degree in Apprenticeship Trades (Telecommunications) from Lane Community College, and the Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Certified Telecommunicator and Emergency Medical Dispatcher certificates from the Oregon Bureau of Public Safety Standards & Training (BPSST), I am also certified in CPR at the "C" Level.
