The Regional Government of Iraqi Kurdistan Pays the Salaries of the Civil
Servants of the Departments of Health in Sulaimaniyah and Kirkuk
Governorates.
With reference to the decision of the premiership of the Council of Ministers
on May 22, 1997 to pay the salaries of the civil servants in the Departments
of Health in Sulaimniyah and Kirkuk Governorates and to meet the demands and
aspirations of the people of Kurdistan, particularly the civil servants of
limited income and also to fulfill the recommendations of our leader
Mr.Massoud Barzani that (the third Cabinet should offer its services to the
people of Kurdistan and be trustworthy of everybody) and as an attempt to
ease the economic conditions of the civil servants in the departments of
Health in Sulaimaniyah and Kirkuk Governorates:
We deem it our duty to pay the salaries of these employees on June 17,1997
with the cooperation of both Ministries of Finance & Economy and Health &
Social Affairs. For this end our Ministry has allocated the money and is
willing to have the Peace Monitoring Force ( PMF) informed of how the
salaries will be paid.
Therefore, we ask the Directors of the Departments of Health in both
Governorates to bring the lists of their employees from June17,1997 onward to
receive their salaries.We are also ready to send the representatives of both
Ministries to Sulaimaniyah to pay the salaries provided that their security
is guaranteed and to be under the protection of the PMF.
