|   | 1797 | First Battle of Cape St. Vincent.  Sir John Jervis takes on Spanish fleet over twice his size and resoundingly defeated them.  For this action, Jervis became Lord St. Vincent. |  
|   | 1943 | American II Corps resoundingly defeated at Kasserine Pass, Tunisia.  Following battle, George Patton was given command of the Corps. |
