As smokers and supporters of individual liberties we applaud the decision of the Philadelphia airport Management to restore the rights of smokers to have a cigarette inside the airport. This is an important step in the forward direction, that is, to provide a space in which smokers can have a cigarette without having to step outside.

Smokers are citizens who contribute to society more taxes than their nonsmoking counterparts, and thus have more than the right to have a place where they can smoke. Your policy is an oasis of sanity in a world gone mad with respect to smoking.

You will no doubt receive letters from anti-smoking organizations quoting impressive figures that show an enormous number of "victims" by second hand smoke. The reality is that the overwhelming scientific evidence indicates that passive smoke is not responsible for any disease.
