Your recent press release with respect to "Health Effects of Exposure to Environmental Tobacco Smoke: The Report of the California Environmental Protection Agency" has been noted. By what stretch of ethics can this be termed a "new report" when it is in fact nothing more than a regurgitation of the 1997 CA/EPA report which was itself a retread of the 1992 US/EPA report which in turn has not only been widely discredited but even vacated by a federal court? The ploy is just one more example of the disinformation characteristic of the public health industry these days. Perhaps it is desperation in the face of steadily declining public acceptance of a blatantly deceptive anti-smoking campaign that causes you to resort to even lower tactics such as this. In any case we strongly protest such shameless propaganda as lacking both credibility and any basis in objective science.
