The Staircase


I've walked this staircase before
At least it seems familiar
Though each step is the same
And the one before disappears
As I take the next step
Almost like an escalator
Going up the down
But I know I'm climbing
Because the end is nearer now
Then when I started
That's if there is an end
Though I am higher then before
So the end must be near
If it be at all.
