Yet ANOTHER one of
Hillary Rodham (? Rodriguez Goldstein ?) Clinton's
Requests for Support ($$)
Check this out. Here's yet another letter that was sent to somebody that I know (to put it kindly) does not like Bill or Hillary :
(my comments are centered in bold)
Dear Friend,
They can launch anti-Hillary websites. They can use their limitless war chest to run negative television ads. They can publish mean-spirited books and press releases.
Yes, we can - can't we? Don't flatter yourself, though.
This site is NOT about YOU personally. It IS about
freedom from the LIKES of you, however.
Oh, here we go. LIMITLESS "war chest"? Sounds ominous.
How do you suppose your "evil" opponents came to have money?
Do you suppose they EARNED IT? Why don't YOU have this kind
of money? Could it be you and your SUPPORTERS haven't earned
it -- so you want to CONFISCATE IT from those who have?? Hmmm?
I get it, MEAN SPIRITED = anything negative about you, right?
But they can never stop me from standing up for what I believe in.
Oh, you're SOOO courageous !
They can never stop me from working to advance the values that we share. That's why I have announced that I intend to run for the United States Senate from New York. And I want you to be the first to know that I will be making my formal announcement in a couple of weeks.
You mean ME and everyone else whose money you want to collect.
When I travel around New York, listening to people talk of their hopes and concerns, people tell me what they want this election to be about. It's not about me, or my opponent. It's about the hopes and lives of working families, about health care and education and making sure that economic prosperity reaches every community.
Not about YOU? Really? When did you make THIS revelation?
No, it's NOT about the federal government sticking it's
nose where it doesn't belong. You MUST HAVE read the Constitution
in law school. Why can't you understand this simple principle?
Oh, and if you want to ensure prosperity, then help us elect
a conservative to the Senate.
Those are the issues I'm going to fight for in the U.S. Senate. But to get there, I need your help. I'm writing to ask you for your active, personal involvement in a campaign that will be one of the most hard fought in the nation in the year 2000.
I need your help to protect Social Security, America's solemn commitment to our parents and grandparents - because, without it, half of all American women over 65 would be living in poverty.
All I can say is that something is TERRIBLY WRONG
if the democrats have convinced people that they
should depend on Social Security. People should NOT be
depending on this SUPPLEMENTAL INCOME to keep
them out of poverty. People should depend on THEMSELVES.
Additionally, if you democrats would keep your damned
hands out of the Social Security "cookie jar", then
Social Security would be in much better shape.
Oh, and what about MEN over 65?
Do you give a damn about THEM?
I need your help to fight for health care protection for the 43 million Americans - over 3 million in New York alone - who have no health insurance. And I need your help to make sure that, whether people choose managed care or traditional pay-for-service care, they receive quality care.
The federal government has no business getting involved
in health care. It is not permitted to do so. You know,
I would think that you'd be smart enough to learn from
your 'Federal Health Care Scheme' fiasco of a few years
ago. What a diaster THAT scheme was ...
Perhaps the most important reason I am asking for your help is the role I want to play in the Senate as an advocate for children. As you know, working on issues affecting children has been a long-standing commitment of mine.
Oh, yes. DO IT FOR THE CHILDREN!!! It's not a
COMMITMENT of yours, rather it's a long-standing
means for you to stir up emotion and appear to be
the "good guy".
I just knew it wouldn't take you long to mention "the
children". Since when do Democrats care about families?
Your power historically comes from breaking them up,
and replacing families with BIG GOVERNMENT.
I know I sound like a broken record, but the federal
government has NO RIGHT to involve itself in these issues.
This is the business of EACH STATE, not the federal government.
In the 2000 elections, we have to build public support for tough measures to protect our children from guns - because it is totally unacceptable that every day in America we lose 13 precious children to gun-related violence.
Alright, let's have the FACTS. How many of the victims are
REALLY children? I mean, how many are innocent little kids
versus GANG MEMBERS and CRIMINALS. You people count 24 year
old DRUG DEALERS as CHILDREN so you can shape public opinion,
for crying out loud! Do you count DRUG DEALERS, RAPISTS, and
MURDERERS who are shot and killed by our police and potential
victims if they are underage? Sure you do. Give me a break.
Any innocent CHILD (or any person for that matter - but I'm not
trying to play on people's emotions now, am I?) lost in any
manner is tragic. And if you REALLY believe this, then you will
focus on FIRES, MEDICAL ACCIDENTS, AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENTS, etc.
before you worry about firearms. As far as firearms are concerned,
you should work WITH, instead of AGAINST, the NRA in further reducing
firearms accidents. Thanks to education and training - not bans -
gun-related accidents are at an all-time low, and are decreasing in
spite of you, HCI, and others.
We have to give public schools and their teachers the support, the dignity, and the respect they deserve - because they hold our children's futures in their hands. And we have to put music and the arts back in our schools.
Yes, we do - BUT NOT AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL!!
Let the people of each State decide what THEY want.
We have to make sure that parents, the central figures in children's lives, have the help they need from the larger community. That means fighting to dramatically increase after-school programs. And it means doing more to make sure that every working parent has access to good, quality, affordable childcare.
Noble goals. Again - BUT NOT AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL!!
Let the people of each State decide what THEY want.
In my travels across New York, I met too many people who told me that the economic good news does not seem real in their communities. They don't want to go back to the old days of irresponsible economic policies that created record deficits and uncertain futures. They want to expand the prosperity that has been created in the last seven years, and make sure that a better financial future is open to anyone willing to work for it.
Who are these people? The ones on welfare who, of course,
still happen to own a color TV, VCR, CD Player, etc ... ???
John Stossel exposed THAT nonsense a few months ago.
They don't want to return to the "old days of Jimmy Carter,
or a democrat-controlled Congress? Good. They should vote for
republicans and conservatives. The "last seven years?" ... I
don't THINK SO. More like the last FIVE years - since the
people got FED UP and put the republicans in control of Congress.
"Willing to WORK for it"? - Now you sound like a conservative.
I am genuinely excited about the progress you and I can make by working together - progress for children, for families, for New York, for America.
You know, you should run for the State Senate if you REALLY
want to do all of these good things for the people of New York -
because THIS is where this type of work belongs. However, if
you're just trying to BOOST yourself into a position to run
for President of the United States, then your cunning - though
very transparent - tactics might work.
You and I have been through alot together. We have pulled together many times, often in the face of strong opposition, on campaigns for shared ideas and ideals. We have come together to make our voices heard on issues of vital importance to our families and communities. I hope that you'll agree that because of this, our country is a better place than it was in 1992.
Boy ... this is deja vue all over again ....
Didn't you write a lot of this same tripe in
some of your previous letters? I'm sure you did.
We've been through a lot together, alright! But it's more like,
"BILL AND I HAVE PUT YOU THROUGH A LOT these last few
years". But it didn't HAVE TO be that way. What were and
are you and your husband THINKING all these years (especialy
these past few)!??
I agree that we're better off FINANCIALLY since 1994 - remember?
... that was the year we elected Republican majorities to both
the Senate and House of Representatives.
Uh, Hillary ... don't ASSUME you have had MY support.
That would be ANOTHER BIG mistake.
Today, our country faces new challenges and I face a new challenge. I hope you'll face it with me. We know that for all the twists and turns, the disappointing moments and the exhilarating ones, campaigns can be wonderful shared experiences. It is my hope that, working together, we can build that kind of campaign, and by our example, teach young people about the importance of standing up for what you believe in.
Again ... deja vue ...
Oh, I thought that your next challenge would be to get
BILL out of your house with the least fuss possible so
the negative publicity wouldn't ruin your chances in
this election.
Also, I surely hope that NO young people learn anything
from the likes of you and your husband, except to use you
two as a BAD example. If we're not careful, there will
be a CIGAR shortage, what with all those cute little
CIGAR TRICKS being performed per BILL'S example.
Do you and your husband believe in giving away the store
to the Chinese in the forms of military and technological
SECRETS? How about in the form of the Panama Canal?
We can defeat the forces of attack politics and personally negative campaigns by talking to people about the issues that matter to their lives, building a grasroots network of committed volunteers who will join in helping to get our positive message out.
You could stop "attack politics and personnally negative
campaigns" if you would (1) stop doing it yourselves, and
(2) stop giving your opposition so DAMNED MUCH AMMUNITION!
You may not be able to travel across New York with me, but in a very real sense, I am counting on you to be by my side. Please stay in touch with me if you can through my web site : http://www.hillary2000.org - or by writing to me.
Again ... deja vue ... but I'm sure that ALGORE
will be glad to see that at least you're RECYCLING
your pleas for money and support.
Very good, Hillary. You have finally come to realize that
SOME OF US HAVE TO WORK in order to PAY for the "free"
programs that you espouse, and the boondoggles that you enjoy.
- And some people have the nerve to claim that you're out of
touch with the real world. Can you imagine??
I hope you will help me carry forward this effort by immediately sending as generous a financial donation as you can afford.
So .. it figures ... you want me to send money ... and
all I hear are the complaints about the "massive
Republican fund-raising machine pouring millions of dollars
into the campaign coffers of Republican Candidates".
You can count on me to stand up for the values and principles you and I believe in. I, in turn, am counting on you.
I appreciate your friendship, I look forward to hearing your ideas, and I thank you for your support.
More RECYCLING ... good ...
You do not have my friendship - and I'm sure
you DO NOT "look forward to hearing MY ideas".
Sincerely,
Is that POSSIBLE?
Hillary Rodham Clinton
P.S. If our opponents think their scare tactics are going to drive me away, they are going to find out how wrong they are! I hope you will join me in this effort. Please respond as quickly as you can.
