Whereas, the widespread migration of Asia-Pacific peoples is a design of imperialism to extract super profits from cheap and docile labor of migrants;

Whereas, peoples of the Asia-Pacific have been experiencing extreme poverty and joblessness due to imperialism's intensifying plunder of the human and natural resources of the region and as a result, a significant number are forced to migrate;

Whereas, APEC is a scheme of imperialism to intensify its control and domination in the Asia-Pacific region resulting in further exploitation and oppression of the peoples of the region;

Whereas, the legitimate aspirations of the peoples of the region for national sovereignty is being undermined by imperialist schemes like APEC;

Whereas, imperialism leads to irreparable damage to the entire social and cultural fabric of the lives and families of millions of migrants;

Whereas, the only way the peoples of the Asia-Pacific can achieve fundamental change is to unite against imperialism and migrant workers themselves have an important role to play in attaining this change;

Whereas, the struggle of migrants is part of the struggle for just, free and democratic societies;

Whereas, concerned groups and individuals in the region, conscious of the role of imperialism, should lead in arousing, organizing, and mobilizing against imperialism and its domestic agents;

Therefore, it is resolved that the workshop on Imperialist Globalization, APEC and Migration of the Asia Pacific Peoples denounce APEC as an imperialist tool that needs to be fundamentally opposed;

Resolved further that the concerned groups and individuals represented here will work for the unity of migrants of different nationalities and local peoples in the Asia-Pacific against imperialism.
