1999 / 2000 EMERGENCY CALLS

In 1999, the Taylor County Dispatch Center received 1097 Emergency 9-1-1 calls compared to 980 Emergency Calls in 1998.

In the year 2000, approximately 1721 emergency 9-1-1- calls came through the Taylor County Dispatch Center.

The Taylor County Sheriff's Department has implemented E9-1-1, which is enhanced 9-1-1. This system will automatically identify on a computer screen, the caller's telephone number, address and identify which agency should respond for Fire, EMS or Law Enforcement. E9-1-1 gives the citizens of Taylor County the security of knowing someone will respond even when they may not be able to tell them where they are.
