Brian Keahl's Political Wit, Wisdom, and Rants
Does everything and everyone around the President lie?
Does the current occupant of the office of the Presidency
have anyone around him who can tell the simple truth? Either Ira Magaziner or the First Lady lied about violating the sunshine law during those private Health Care Task Force meetings. Perhaps the cameras lied.
Billy Dale, 30-year travel office veteran, and several other travel office
Employees were "fired" for undefined crimes and the Whitehouse initiated a FBI investigation. It was determined, in court, that Mr. Dale and his employees committed no such crimes. During the investigation Whitehouse staff admitted they had been informed by the First Lady that the travel office staff were to go. Hillary Clinton denied the claims. Either White House staffers lied or the First Lady and the President lied. One staffer even lied to his diary … or did he lie about lying to his diary? Maybe the diary lied.
Either the First Lady lied about not having long lost billing records (i.e.
Evidence) or the staffer lied about finding them on that table in the White House first family living area. The billing records must have hid themselves.
Candidate Clinton and Commander-In-Chief Clinton said that he did not evade the draft. He had legitimate reasons for not serving and didn't "pull any strings" to get out of serving. But wait, a military officer announces that Bill Clinton came to him and offered to join the ROTC in return for getting an exemption from being drafted and going to Asia. Well, says the campaign, there isn't anything unusual in that. Candidate Clinton even gave a "heart-felt" statement indicating his love and respect for the armed services. Later a letter surfaces where he says he "loathes" the military and admits to the military officer that he wasn't honest with him about his intentions and that he wasn't going to join the ROTC. Perhaps the typewriter lied.
After Vince Foster's mysterious death the President expressed shock and surprise
that the man would commit suicide. Later the President reports that there was concern about Mr. Foster's Depression. It was also disclosed that the President had spoken to Vince Foster the day prior to his death. The reason: the President was concerned about Mr. Foster's well being. Perhaps the phone records lied.
While not in Asia or the United States Bill Clinton was in Europe. Of course, he was just going to school. Rumors surfaced that he had engaged in anti-American war demonstrations. Lies, Lies, Lies the campaign said. Of course, fellow protestors and pictures appeared. It must be that the camera and the protestors lied.
When he wasn't in Asia or the United States or Europe Bill Clinton was in
Moscow. Candidate Clinton said he didn't remember what he did while in the Soviet Union. During a Presidential trip to Russia the President, over wine at a dinner table, tearfully spoke about the wonderful time he had being escorted around Moscow during his college trip to the country by the woman across the table from him. The woman was, back then, the head of the Communist Party of Czhekloslavakia. This was just prior to the invasion of the country by the Russians. Perhaps the video camera lied.
Candidate Clinton said he never had a personal relationship with Gennifer Flowers.
Gennifer Flowers said she did. Ms. Flowers must be lying says the campaign. But wait, Genni produces a tape recording with a personal conversation between she and Mr. Clinton. He's even making not-so-flattering remarks about Governor Cuomo. Perhaps the tape recorder lied.
President Clinton said he was never at the Excelsior Hotel in Little Rock and was certainly never in a hotel room with Paula Jones. Paula Jones insists he was at the hotel and in the hotel room. So does a state trooper who escorted her to
the room. So do others that were present when the state trooper came to her and informed her that the Governor wanted to see her. Arkansas records show that Governor Clinton was at the hotel that day. Oh yea, now the President remembers being there. But all the stuff those other people are saying must be lies.
Now we have a young woman, Monica Lewinsky, who walks around telling everyone
that she has been having intimate relations with the President … except when she testifies during an investigation. Did she lie to congress or lie to the tape recorder? Maybe the tape recorder lied.
Late breaking news is that an answering machine message to this young lady from Bill Clinton exists. Perhaps they will say that the answering machine lied.
Then again, it could be that these other people are telling the truth. Who would be the liar then?
Now we have Monica Lewinski, in return for immunity from prosecution, testifying before an independent consul. She is, apparently, admitting to having had sexual relations with the president! The White House staff (the people, not the instrument) now floats the idea that oral sex is not sex. Of course they have yet to explain why the word "sex" is included in the phrase if it is not sex.
