The Paula Jones Case (File #X106A) Updated 02-08-1998

Paula Corbin Jones alleges that then Governor William Jefferson Blythe Clinton violated her civil rights on May 8th, 1991. Mrs. Jones was working as an employee of the Industrial Development Commission working at the Arkansas Quality Management Governor's Conference in the Excelsior Hotel. The charge is that Governor Clinton, in violation of Federal law, used his position of authority over her by indicating he knew her boss and that he was the Governor of Arkansas. The Governor attempted to restrain her, groped her, exposed his genitals and asked her to perform oral sex upon him.

President Clinton denies that the events, as described by Paula Jones, happened. He denied being in the hotel room. He denied even being at the Excelsior hotel!

Others present at the event remember her recounting the event to them after she left the hotel room. Some remember seeing her being escorted away (presumably to the room) by an Arkansas State Trooper. A few remember the request by the state trooper on behalf of the governor.

Later evidence indicated that the Governor's event was at the Excelsior hotel and that he was there. President Clinton, at this point, remembered that he was at the hotel but was never in the room and never saw Paula Jones. Yet more evidence from Trooper Ferguson, an Arkansas State Trooper on Governor Clinton's detail, weakened the President's position. Trooper Ferguson said that he was instructed by Governor Clinton to bring Paula Jones to his hotel room. Trooper Ferguson said he brought her to the room, led her in, and "waited in the hallway for her to come out." At this point the Governor indicated that he does not recall ever meeting Paula Jones in a hotel room. He no longer denies having been in the hotel room, merely that he hadn't met her in the hotel room. Perhaps that's because her name wasn't Paula Jones at the time, but Paula Corbin.

A 51 year old former Whitehorse volunteer, Kathleen Willey, reluctantly testified in the Jone case that she too had been approached and fondled by the President.

In early February of 1998 President Clinton's private secretary, Mrs. Curriee, testified. It is rumored that she claimed the President had coached her on what to say when when he returned from his deposition.

Finally, a young intern named Monica Lewinsky has made some allegations regarding the president's sexual practices that parallel the president's request in the hotel room, This could substatiate the fact that the president has a policy of violating EEOC laws regarding soliciting sex from subordinates.

UPDATE***UPDATE***UPDATE***UPDATE***UPDATE

The release of the first installment of The Starr Report has resulted in a confession by President William Jefferson Blythe Clinton that he had not been truthful with the American people when he said he had no relations with @quot;...that woman, Monica Lewinski...;". It appears that this admission may indicate that he committed perjury in this case. The sigificance of this is that the perjury may have resulted in the civil rights case being dismissed. This would also be obstruction of justice.
