Hubble Expects Indictment(File #X803B) Updated 02-12-1999

Another Friend Of Bill, Webster Hubbell, says he expects to face an indictment and new criminal tax charges related to his Whitewater involvement.

Despite claims that there was no criminal activity proven in the Whitewater investigation, Webster Hubbell joined a growing cast of characters who have been convicted in 1994, due to his own plea of guilt. His crimes were largely related to billing and mail fraud.

After his conviction he began receiving consulting fees from other Friends Of Bill amounting to hundreds of thousands of dollars after he resigned as Clintons Associate Attorney General and was being investigated by Whitewater Prosecutors.

The million dollar ... er, hundreds of thousands of dollars ... question is whether the fees were designed to influence Mr. Hubbell's testimony. The suspicions grew as investigators became frustrated at Mr. Hubbels's inability to recall key pieces of information related to his dealings with the Clintons.

Mr. Hubbell, like many others surrounding the President, began receiving large sums of money from other FOB's when trouble arose. Is it a coincidence or is there actually an attempt to obstruct justice?
