Guinea-Bissau: RGB/Bafata Movement Begins Party Congress
Bissau, Aug. 27 (Lusa) - The Guinea-Bissau Resistance/Bafata Movement (RGB/MB) began a three-day party congress Friday in Bissau.
The 567 delegates of the country's second largest political party will be choosing a new leadership and planning strategies for upcoming Nov. 28 general elections. -Lusa-

Guinea-Bissau: Portuguese Police to Help Investigate Murder of Former Cabinet Minister
Lisbon, Aug. 27 (Lusa) - Five Portuguese police officers will travel to Guinea-Bissau in the next few days to work with local authorities investigating the Sunday murder of former cabinet minister Nicandro Barreto, the Lisbon justice ministry announced Thursday.
Barreto was the last minister of territorial administration in the regime of ex-president Nino Vieira, who was ousted from power last May 7. -Lusa-
