Domestic Violence Unit

The Domestic Violence Unit was established in 1993 in response to the increased awareness of the scope of crimes of that nature. It was the first such unit in the State and has been used as a standard for the creation of similar units throughout the country. In 1998 the Family Violence Council awarded this unit it's Outstanding Achievement Award for Law Enforcement. The highest volume of the unit's work is centered on the service of Protective Orders.
