The original Saddam Hussein was a peace loving benevolent ruler, who would not play dice with what the CIA had planned for the middle east. After a disasterous war with Iran (which had been brought about by CIA interference), the Iraqi people were in no mood for further conflict. Of course, the CIA had other plans. Saddam refused to throw his country into a pointless war just to appease the CIA's desire to beef up CNN's ratings and prestige.
The CIA finally said enough is enough and killed the kind hearted Saddam Hussein and replaced him with a bio-engineered clone, who was programed to obey orders. Within a week the beginning of the Gulf War was broadcast into millions of homes around the world, all courtesy of CNN.
