Tinfoil has an almost unique property in which it can bend, and often block mind control and mind reading signals, especially those developed by the CIA. The CIA have been hard at work at finding a weakness in tinfoil, but tinfoil has repeatedly 'foiled' their attempts.
I personally wear a tinfoil hat at all times and have wallpapered my house with tinfoil.
The truth is, I am completely able to shield myself from their deadly mind controlling beams, a thing they learned from the large headed aliens from the pilot episode of Star Trek (Original series).
