IRELAND
Altough there seem already to have existed some communities before, Christianism was
only really introduced in Ireland in 432 when St Patrick was sent to the island.
A regular hierarchy - surviving the introduction of Anglicanism and Protestantism
in the 16th and 17th centuries - emerged in the course of the following centuries.
The hierarchy remained unchanged after the political division of 1920 - 1922.
