BRITISH COLONY OF MALTA
The British "temporarily" occupied the island of Malta - at that moment formally still a possession of the Order of Malta, but under French occupation - in 1800. By the Treaty of Paris in 1814 the occupation became definitive and Malta became a British Crown Colony. In 1921 selfgovernement was introduced only to be suspended in 1930 and 1933 and to be revoqued in 1936. __________________________________________________________________________________BRITISH ADMINISTRATORS
