The Hero

Constantin Stoicanescu was the man who almost succeeded to turn the wheel of history on the Eastern Front in 1944-'45.

On June 24^th, 1997, we celebrated 70 years from the founding of the

LEGION ARCHANGEL MICHAEL by

1. Corneliu Codreanu,
2. Ion I. Motza,
3. Corneliu Ceorgescu,
4. Ilie Garneatsa and
5. Radu Mironovici.

Iasi - the capital of Moldavia - was the city where the Legion was founded.

Orthodox Romanians and British Catholics gathered in Iasi for the celebrations.

The photo above is on the Flowers Street - strada Florilor - right in front of the ruins (remained after the Allied bombings) of the house where Codreanu signed the Order no.1 in 1927.
