Her love for her family was always evident. When they interviewed your Dad outside the White House at the party for the White House's birthday the other evening, he brought tears to my eyes whe he proclaimed his love for you and how very proud he was of you and how you have handeled yourself. When I watched your response to Gores phony little speach last evening and his offer to you regarding the outcome of the election, I too was just as proud of you and your response to him as your dear Dad was the other evening. I voted Bush for President! He was in the lead and should be the next President even if it was too close to call! Those extra votes should have made a difference in his winning just as one more point could have broken a tie. I believe the recount shoul only be used as a tie-breaker, and because there was no tie, there was no need for a recount. Out of fairness and expediency, the results of the voting process should have been accepted just as it was accepted in the last Presidential election. It would have prevented the wasted time, money, and problems we are experiencing now. I'm sure the concerns we have now existed then as well. It was just that no one bothered to delve into it. Recounting votes only seem to cater to special interest groups, and ecounting votes manually may have set precedence to going back in time and resorting to handcounting millions and millions of votes in the future, if it is believed to be the most accurate and fair. However, more emphesis needs now to be placed on the great gains that Mr. Bush made in Texas' Educational system (e.g., increases on academic performance, funding, enrollment of students - University and Grade School - especially minorities), while American kids fall behind the world in Math and Science. (And people say he is prejudiced?!? Huh!)

Also, the voting public needs to know (and may not) that Mr. Bush helped reduce the pollution levels by a lot. I hope that he understands that his family's oil business is not the best thing for the environment.

I thought it was pretty cool to be in Gore's home state the very day after Al's big night! They were only expecting a few hundred people at the ally and over 10,000 showed up. I have never miss any Presidental election and try not missing local and state that is not alway possible. I have worked for the same company for 21 years, and now am home due to a layoff. If the american government is trying to break me it is begining to work. I love my country and would die for her, but that does not give them the right to destory its mem er one family at a time, by being concern with special interest group, and trying to stand for nothing moral or right. Abraham Lincoln, said that this government of the people by the people for the people shall not perish from this earth, how wrong we ha e made him. I do not want to go another 8 year with Al Gore, please bring up unemployement, and how the number are distored to make him look good, people can not work in department store and food marts and support a family. It takes american industry to eep us strong in the world not fast food department stores, they are needed but not as main stay. Will it be status que or will the Republican Party Stand firm and be counted with those who see the traditional family be betrayed family values being cheep d where it has become nessisary to abandend the Boy Scouts of Americal because they have become to hot of a subject. The Bible says of Him who takes a position of leadership much is required. I plan to vote for you, but let it be know I tired my armor i battle scared, but like those in the war fought on far off shores and as President Lincoln said those who have given the last full measure of devotion. I have a great idea to solve the debating problem with Al Gore. Why not have PBS host the debates. I thought Jim Leahr from the News Hour did a great job last time. If PBS hosted the debates they could sell the rights to the other stations; CNN, MSNBC... hat want to carry it too. They could also sell the rights to use portions to CBS, NBC, ABC... This way PBS can make some money and there is PBS everywhere! Regarding the percription for poor and elderly debate I was thinking that you ought to let people know that the "BIG" drug companies give out free drugs to those who qualify. The way I see it the poor that are having problems making it are being helped. T erefore the only assistance needed is for the next few steps (economically) of people. As a parent with two of my kids graduating from college already, and with five still in college, I am impressed with the Govenors work in education. I cannot stress enough how important education is to our children all across the United States. I have li tened to the Govenor soon to be President, and I would encourage him to keep hitting hard on the value of a good education. Perhaps if he hasn't already look up the reading test scores of the inmates that are currently in our prisons. I totally agree with you on the issues that are important to America! Having worked with public schools in many different ways I found them to be completely insufficent in the way they teach! My son attended public school his kindergarten year only to hav to repeat it when we enrolled him in private school this year.When they tested him not only could he not read any of the 1st grade level he could very little of the k5 level at the private school! They taught site reading (pictures). So he didn,t learn l tter sounds and phonics at all. So basicly he lost a year of his life. The NEA should be abolished immediately for the majority of the money goes into the pockets of administrators and asst. administrators and the asst. to the asst. adminstrators and on a d on and on!!!! I,ve been in schools when they didn't have money for copying paper for the children but the SUPERINTENDANT was still making 110k a yr. and doing nothing. Now it would be nice to have a "real" tax cut to help pay for private school, health nsurance premiums or a deduction on taxes to help pay.You can make a 75k a yr. but if the govt.ends up with close to 40% then there is no real buying power! Now I hope that you start having town hall meetings very frequent and get excited about telling fo ks about your programs and details of the way each and everyone of them will benefit in their everyday life!!! You have got to beat that "democratMcCain" for the nomination!!!!I'm very serious, I think he should go ahead and change parties. I drove half way (300 miles) across Thailand in 1992 to vote for George Bush. (I am a translator and was in Thailand at the time) I greatly respect George and Barbara Bush for their sound family values, conservative stand and balanced focus. I believe they have instilled those same values in their son, George W. Bush. I would drive across America to vote for him if he ran for president in 2000. We need him. I am not the only one who feels this way.

It's simple. We need a man like Gov. Bush in the White House. INTEGRITY AND CHARACTER do matter as we have all come to realize. Gov. Bush stands on "the Rock." We have come to see what happens when you "build your house on shifting sand." Unfortunate y for America...OUR White House is on the sand. I truly believe that Gov. Bush will rebuild it on "the Rock." America has been deceived even though alot of us weren't. Continue to stand on the Word Gov. Bush!!
