Teaching English as a foreign language to adults and children. Children ranged in age from five to 12 years old, and classes were one to 8 students. Adult classes were one to four students. Using a text supplied by the company, I instructed students in spoken grammar and pronunciation, as well as idioms and common usage. I also taught preparation classes for TOEIC and TOEFL, and was responsible for co-ordinating the special large group discussion ("VOICE") schedule.

Repeated contract work. Instructing new and mature students in the use of the Carleton Hotline for Administration and Teaching (CHAT), Carleton University's Intranet. Instruction included creating accounts for each student, basic instruction in the use of email, search capabilities, and Telnet to the University's library system. In the second and third year, instruction also included basic Graphical User Interface instruction, including accessing the GUI for the University's official site, and basic web page preparation.

Graduated with Honours. Was a member of the English Literature Society for five years, served on the executive for four years (one year each as Secretary and Treasurer, two years as President). Executive duties included production of the Society's magazine, Box 77, three times a year, organizing events, and acting as liaison between students and faculty. In my final year we organized a highly successful charity fund raiser for Harmony House.
