news: According to "Kiss for a Cause With So...? Fragrances and Soles4Souls Inc." Cassie and Melissa McIntyre will attend and sign autographs at the charity event in support of Soles4Souls Inc. with So...? Fragrances at Brea Mall, Los Angeles, this Saturday, November 11.
D:TNG Season 6 will finally premiere on CTV on November 28. A week earlier on November 21 "Here Comes Your Man" will be available for viewing online at ctv.ca. Read the press release, all about CTV's broadband strategy, and what Season 6 will deal with: "CTV schedules additional episode of The O.C., sets premiere date for Degrassi: The Next Generation".

news: Cassie and D:TNG co-star Jake Epstein joined the party at Time Supper Club, Montréal, last Tuesday according to article "Partying in high style". Also check out the article for a picture of the two actors, one of which is now sporting a beard!

Just then, Jake Epstein, 19, and Cassie Steele, 17, actors from Degrassi: the Next Generation, arrived.

"This party happens to have a really awesome crowd," said Steele who was wearing head-to-toe black, save for her scarlet lips and bright empire belt.

In other Degrassi news, beware of upcoming dates:

news: Available are two new interviews: People's Q&A "Degrassi's Diva: Cassie Steele" and "Degrassi's Hottest Stars Speak Out!" from tvguide.com. In the former, the young actress talks about playing her character Manny and a bit about growing up in the business. The latter features interviews with Cassie, Miriam McDonald, Lauren Collins, and Shane Kippel talking about the series and their experiences growing up on the show. Recommended reads! news: As mentioned earlier on August 18 the Bratz Babyz Crazy Karaoke Mall Tour is traveling across Canada. Part of this tour is a contest in which one lucky winner can spend a day with Cassie in Toronto. Please note that you have to be a Canadian resident and between the ages of 5 and 14 to enter this contest. Visit the link for more info and the dates and locations of this tour.

news: Tomorrow, September 15, is the Ultimate Degrassi Party. Available at The N's N'Sider will be almost-live podcasts starting at 6:30 PM. Much of the cast of D:TNG and other N shows will be in attendance for the Season 6 premiere.
Visit the Degrassi: Extra Credit blog for more information about the graphic novels. In addition on September 24 is the Word on the Street festival in the Toronto area with Degrassi co-creator Linda Schuyler, cast members Cassie Steele, Jake Goldsbie, and Stefan Brogren, author J. Torres and illustrator Ramón Pérez on panel discussing the graphic novels.

news: "Accidents Will Happen" continues to air on The N throughout the weekend as well as on The Click this week. Cassie is also featured in this week's podcast talking about her episode picks on The Click: "Accidents Will Happen," "West End Girls," "Venus," "Our Lips Are Sealed," and "High Fidelity." Definitely listen to the podcast at The N'Sider to hear her thoughts about these episodes. Also on The Click is a sneak preview of Cassie talking about "Should I Stay or Should I Go" for September's Go-Therest Moments. Interesting how The N always seems to have new Degrassi stuff going on all year long.

news: "Accidents Will Happen" will finally air tonight on The N at 10pm. Don't miss it! It'll also be on The Click. In addition at The N.com Cassie will be featured in this week's podcast.
Cassie updated her official site journal with news that she'll be in L.A. at the end of August, in NY in September (most likely for the Your Ultimate Degrassi Party), traveling across Canada and performing in the Bratz Crazy Karaoke mall tours. More news to come soon!

news: In addition to yesterday's news, a new press release is now available: "Media Invitation - BRATZ(R) Couture Line Unveiled For First Time in Canada". In addition to hosting the fashion show of BRATZ Couture, Cassie will perform some of her new songs from an upcoming album and meet with fans after the shows (August 19-20; 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.).
As you may already know on this Friday, August 18, The N will finally be airing "Accidents Will Happen." According to yesterday's The N'Sider Cassie will be featured in this week's podcast. The-Seth and The-Mary will ask her questions about this episode.

news: This weekend (August 19-20) Cassie will be hosting the Bratz Weekend at the President's Choice stage at Centreville. She'll be there both days from 12 noon to 4pm.
In other D:TNG news, Exec Producer Stohn mentioned on the d.tv boards that they're also doing mini-episodes in addition to the regular episodes.

• August 10, 2006

news: The N is holding a contest for Your Ultimate Degrassi Party. On September 15 the cast of D:TNG and The N's other series will be attendance at the premiere of Season 6 first episode in NY. So enter now! Then on September 29 The N will air this first episode of Season 6.

• July 26, 2006

news: Like I said in the last update The N will air their annual "Every Episode Ever Marathon" starting August 4 and continuing every weekend afterwards. On the weekend of August 18-20 "Accidents Will Happen" will finally air on the channel at 10pm with repeats throughout the weekend.
In other D:TNG news, production is going well. The cast and crew filmed 8 of the 19 episodes of Season 6. Exec Stohn also mentioned the open sequence is redone with remixed music sans vocals, and individual characters featured in the foreground with past moments in the background.

Cool! I have news!
At the D:TNG imdb page are images from the Season 5 finale/100th episode. Some are episode pictures and some are of the cast. The ones with Cassie are added to the gallery.
In August The N will air their annual "Every Episode Ever Marathon." Buzz around the fansites is that "Accidents Will Happen" will finally air on this channel. Keep an eye out for more information!

news: I've come bearing news about ... Degrassi. The press release "Degrassi: The Next Generation Embarks on Its Hottest School Year Ever as The N Commences Production on Season Six of the Hit Teen Drama" reveals a bit of what we viewers will see this fall--more issues presented honestly as the characters mature and take on more responsibilities.
At the degrassi.tv boards Executive Producer Stephen Stohn has confirmed that The N will start airing Season 6 in October while CTV will start later, sometime in November.
The N has The Click, and CTV now broadcasts episodes of D:TNG.

news: Cassie updated her official site journal last Wednesday. Currently she's filming Season 6 of D:TNG, writing more music, taking videos, and pursuing her usual activies (music, sports, friends).

news: Season 5 of D:TNG wraps up on The N next week, but this station keeps Degrassi going on all year long. In two weeks, June 16, a new behind-the-scenes special Degrassi Tells All will air. Promos are currently airing on The N with the cast being interviewed and sharing stories. More news to come.

news: New article "Media Advisory - Canadian Stars Take Action for Artists" about "Status of the Artist in Ontario" conference in which both Cassie, Sarah Barrable-Tishauer, and other Canadian performers will be participating. This proposed legislation is about recognizing artists' role and contribution in society.

• May 6, 2006

news: Tomorrow, May 7, Cassie and Lauren Collins (and maybe the rest of the D:TNG cast) will participate in the Bell Walk for Kids Help Phone according to Toronto Sun article "Degrassi stars to walk for youth helpline." They'll meet with fans, sign autographs, take pictures, and Cassie will sing the national anthem. Click the above links for more info.

news: Executive producer Stephen Stohn has confirmed on the degrassi.tv "Shooting Season 3" that on May 23 the sixth season (19 episodes) of D:TNG will commence.

Which leaves us with only one question: aren't we about due for a Ready or Not reunion?" A resounding yes please!!

news: D:TNG's 100th episode airs today. Some news articles about it with the cast's comments as well as co-creator Linda Schuyler's thoughts: "Teen drama Degrassi hits 100" from Toronto Star and Degrassi hits milestone" from Metro. CTV.ca has a new video, Degrassi celebrates 100 episodes 2:01, in which the cast share their thoughts of the past 100 episodes and 5 seasons.

• March 17, 2006

news: Yesterday was the 100th episode screening of D:TNG's "High Fidelity (II)" in Toronto. CTV.ca has a video: Teens line up for Degrassi bash 1:17. You can see some pictures of the event at the Degrassi TNGHO. Cake was cut, pizza was eaten, and lucky fans met the cast and Exec Producer Stephen Stohn.
And let the countdown to the second half of the series on The N begin! A lot of good stuff to look forward to.

I updated the following pages: gallery with screen captures of eTalk with the D:TNG girls' Fashion 18 photo shoot, works, accolades, keep watch, video clips reuploaded (they expired earlier), Manny and D:TNG, other talented Filipinos, and shop.
news: andPop posted Ryan Emberley's video interview with Cassie. She discusses her musical influences, her sound and albums, acting, a bit of life (relaxing; working out; myspace), and goals. In the end are Cassie and her band performing one of her songs. The actress-singer mentions that she's currently working on a second album, which she hopes to release this summer.
The D:TNG cast has been nominated for Best Young Ensemble Performance in a TV Series (Comedy or Drama) in the 27th Annual Young Artist Awards.

Degrassi news: According to Exec Producer Stohn at degrassi.tv, they're brainstorming ideas for a possible Season 6 if they receive a go ahead and that new photos will be up in the fan pages gallery soon. He also revealed the title of the first Degrassi Mini Episode, "Don't You Forget About Me--Part 1," which will be available at The N--a sneak peek this Friday (sign up for the N'Sider newsletter), an official release February 3.
