| August 2, 2001 Shay made her parameters again this morning, although she is pushing it -- her hemoglobin is 8.1 and her platelets are 23 -- both down a little from yesterday. She seems to be feeling well -- especially last night. We had a water fight at about 11! One of the nurses gave her an empty 40cc syringe and a container of water, to get the child life specialist, Katie, with. Well, I was in the recliner (in my nightclothes, of course) and she squirted me! I took my large glass of ice water and stood over her on the bed, threatening to dump it on. Dingy kid kicked up with her foot, hit the glass and got it all dumped on top of her! Her nurse, Shannon, was over by the door, fixing to book if it came her way (smart girl!)! But if Shay is feeling welll enough to play, she is really getting better. She looked in the mirror this morning and realized that her face wasn't so swollen anymore. I think she was quite happy. Not a whole lot else going on -- but if anyone from my work is reading this, please let me know if J. Gill is getting my emails, as I haven't heard from her <G>.
