So far this has not been a good day...  When I woke up this morning, Shay was on oxygen.  She wears a pulse oximeter to measure the amount of oxygen she's taking in and she had dropped down to about 83-85% during the night.  Even with the oxygen on, she's only getting up to 95%, so the doctors want to start her on respiratory therapy three times a day.

She's also starting to run a fever and is now on two different types of antibiotics for the possible infection.  Right now, that would be a very *bad* thing...  She still has no immune system.  She got platelets this morning and hopefully that will help with the nosebleeds she's been having.

She did get up and take her shower and do her mouth care this morning, so that is a good sign.  She's sleeping a lot from the morphine and ativan but I can tell she's still not comfortable -- she tosses and turns and moans a lot.  Her mouth is so sore she can't really even talk this morning.

And, on top of everything else, she is showing the first signs of GVH (
Graft vs. Host disease).  Sort of like rejection in reverse.  Her hands and feet are starting a rash -- so are her ears, I think.  Wish us luck...
