Happy Holidays!

The holidays can be a hectic time for everyone and I am no exception. There is something different this year though, and I hope it’s not just with me. It seems that everywhere I go, and with everything I do there is an exceptional amount of true Christmas Spirit out there in the world. It felt like everyone’s lights went up a little earlier. People out shopping are being a little nicer and more tolerant. After a slow start tips are getting a little fatter, and more and more Christmas parties are being held.

I know that these things are not the true Christmas Spirit that this holiday is supposed to be about, but I can only hope that these outward examples are merely a larger measure of the true spirit shining through and expressing itself to all who are near.

With the shadow of recent and current events hanging over us, it is very comforting to see and feel a resurgence in the kindness and love that this special time of year, and all of it’s corresponding holidays, brings out in people. Perhaps it’s all this good cheer that is keeping me so busy lately, but that is the way it goes for people in our chosen line of work. Some of us will work on Christmas Eve, some on New Years Day, and some on every day from now till then. It is a job, and you may not want to be there, but enjoy the holidays with those around you, as they might not want to be there any more than you do, and might also have no where else to go.

So have a safe and happy holidays. Be it Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or just a bright and clear, cold starry night, good cheer and enjoy the rest of the season.
