FOR MY BEST FRIEND

By Cathy Roberts

Once, a million years ago,
I was alone in the world.
There was no one who understood.
Then you came into my life,
A soul lost like mine,
And we did each other good.

Now we're so far away,
The miles stretch on forever,
Keeping us so far apart.
But no matter where I am,
Remember my dearest friend,
You are always in my heart.

You can ease your mind,
When all may seem lost,
Just use your heart to think of me.
For no matter where I am,
Or whatever I may do,
You are always a part of me.
