Neighbours - Getting Ready

Summary: Chakotay and Kathryn are getting ready for their evening out with the senior staff.
Author's Note: I have no idea how long this is going to go on for!
Kathryn had been standing in front of her wardrobe for 20 minutes and still she had yet to decide what to wear.
'You'd think I was meeting diplomats' she thought to herself 'well if you were Kathryn you'd be wearing your dress uniform!'
Her door chime rang.
"Oh…darn" She moved from her bedroom to her main living quarters. Kathryn opened her door.
"Good evening Kath…you're not ready yet"
"Chakotay! Come in, sit down and I'll find something to wear…I promise" Kathryn walked back to her bedroom.
Chakotay stepped into the room and made for the sofa.
"You know, Kathryn, you don’t have to go to so much trouble. I'm just wearing a shirt and slacks, nothing special"
A head popped out of the bedroom door "I know, its just…I don't get to wear anything other than a uniform, so…"
The head disappeared "Ah-ha! You'll do!" Her voice was muffled as if it came from inside her wardrobe.
"Finally" Chakotay muttered.
"I heard that" Came Kathryn's voice from the bedroom.
"Typical"
"I heard that too"
Chakotay laughed. Kathryn came out of her bedroom, wearing a long grey skirt with large black flowers and a short sleeved cream tunic.
"You look lovely Kathryn" Chakotay stood up "Lets go"
"Wait…"
"What now?"
"I have to put something on my feet, not quite sure what though" Kathryn moved back into her bedroom.
Chakotay walked to the door that separated the two rooms.
"Shoes are usually a good thing"
"You don't say" Kathryn laughed
Kathryn was now on her hands and knees rummaging around the bottom of her wardrobe. Something came flying out of the wardrobe and landed on the bed. Several things followed.
"I learn something new about you everyday Kathryn Janeway!"
"You do?" was the muffled reply.
"Yeah! Have you found those shoes yet? We're supposed to be meeting everyone on holodeck one in 5 minutes."
"Nearly…there, got them" she backed out smiling, holding a pair of black, flat sandals. She placed them on her feet, checked her hair and makeup in the mirror and then walked over to Chakotay.
"I'm ready now"
"You sure? You look like you're missing something."
"What? What's missing?" Kathryn looked down at her appearance.
Chakotay left her side and walked over to her bedside table.
"This" Chakotay handed her, her commbadge.
"Thank you. What would I do without you?" she smiled at him
"You'd have gone without it" he grinned back.
Kathryn placed her commbadge on her tunic and laughed. She then looked up at him.
"Now I'm ready"
He offered her his arm and they made their way to her door and then towards the holodeck.
"Let's go and have some fun" Chakotay smiled.
