Testimonials
Just a sample of some of the
kind words from people who have
used the information on this site
Karl Meema says:I just wanted to thank you for the excellent description complete with pictures on improving the performance on an SV650. I am no mechanical genius yet I was able to follow the instructions. I gained at least 4 hp by the surgery on our dyno.  I race up in Calgary, our club, CMRA, uses a Dynojet dyno ... with a full pipe I dyno'd at 72hp, by performing the snorkelectomy (and jetting) it rose to 76 hp. The SV has about 2,000 miles on it and only 3 race/track days.
Kenneth Murray says: Thank you for putting together the web pages on tuning the SV650; I found them very helpful. My SV650 was practically unrideable, with poor throttle response and horrible surging. I was told to "just shim the needles"; but I had now clue how to do it before I read your web page
Ben Cohen says: I just finished rejetting/shimming/de-snorkeling my SV and your page was a BIG help.  ... Anyhow, just wanted to thank you for all the time you spent on the pictures and write up.  I'm not sure I would have attempted this on my own without it.
Duane Massa says: John, Great page.  Very helpful.  I would have probably never considered tinkering with my SV without your helpful pages.
Stan says: Thanks for such great information.  The work that you have done in documenting the SV mod.s is incredible.  I feel that I now have the information that I need to proceed with my own SV carb mods. It is really an amazing site for anyone who wants to modify their SV.
Andy Foster says: thanks for the help with your how-to stuff-it was actually a big reason why I chose an SV. A  friend mentioned the owners websites before I bought.  (I am still waiting for that kick back from Suzuki -oh well)
Joe Reznick says: John, Thanks for all the info you provide, no doubt it will save me a lot of time and guess work.
Mark MacHale says: Hey John, I just wanted to say thanks for the great job on detailing the carb work on the SV. I am now confident that I can accomplish both the shimming and and the mixture set up. I am adding a Two Brothers can next week, and I am looking forward to the power gains and better sound. Thanks again.
Timothy Reed says: I have checked out your SV pages and enjoyed the movies and tips on the shimming/mixture screw adjustments. Thanks for taking the time to put together these pages.
Jim Horsty says: Thanks for putting up the informative article on the installation of your V+H exhaust system.Great pics, very informative.
Jeremy Berman says: Your page of SV650 how-to's is very useful, saved me from having to buy the shop manual to shim & re-jet. Just wanted to let you know some people appreciate it.
Stephen Yui says: Just wanted to say thanks and nice job on your site. I never even knew V&H made an exhaust for the SV and it sounds just as good as it looks!
Dan Burke says: John... Great tutorials and pics! You are very concise in your explanation.
Darren Johnson says: I love your instructions and the great pictures, you have no idea how much they have helped.
Jeff keller says: I told you before to stay away from my wife.  The next time will be your last time if you get my drift.

Brian Wachtel says: THANKS FOR YOUR HELP AND FOR BEING SO OPEN TO HELPING OTHER RIDERS WITH ALL YOU INFO ON YOUR WEB PAGE! ITS PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT MAKE THIS SPORT-HOBBIE SO MUCH FUN! AGAIN THANKS!!!!!!

Dustin Burris says: You've got an awesome site. The detailed instructions, tips, and info are outstanding. I have your website under my favorites and will be the first place to visit when the mods begin on my ride.
Tim Morgan says: Big Thanks for the help youve offered on your webpage. I put a Hindle full race exhaust on my 00' SV. I performed a Snorkelektomy, used 145's, and 17.5's, used 2 shims, adjusted the air-fuel mixture, and Im ready to go. - I took my first ride today. WOW!!!  Its the same bike, but that really woke it up. Especially in the midrange. I havent found any flat spots or seen any problems, other than the fact that I can wheelie through fourth. (If that is a problem). - I wanted to thank you for walking me through this. You made this project too simple. Keep up the good work. Thanks for everything!!

Carl Holmes says: John, you're a genius. Your SV650 carb instructions enabled me to transform my safe-and-sane, button-down SV650S commuter into a rip-snorting hooligan.  With "snorkelectomy", rejetting and Two Brothers slip-on, college girls flip their hair for me, and men from ten to seventy amble over to tell me how great my motorcycle sounds.  And between its wonderful sound, flawless low-speed carburetion, melodious exhaust note, newly arm-straightening midrange and inspiring sound, it's as fulfilling a motorcycle as I've ever owned.  Thanks again for your service to the gleeful motorcycling public.

Scott Grace says: hi, my name is scott and i brought a brand new sv650s, and i love it. well, thanks for telling people how great your bike sounds and looks. i just called cycle center of denton, and ordered my s4 exhaust i cant wait unitl it comes in. they said it will be a few weeks, because there getting hard to have in stock, because people are buying them left and right. thanks again.
Brian Griffin says: On Sunday I printed all the info on your site and shimmed, and re-jetted my  2000 SV.  Your pictures and instructions made the job a breeze.  Thanks a  ton for the help.
